At the Hilo Medical Center Foundation’s Annual meeting held on August 1, 2013, the Board of Trustees took a moment to recognize a Board Member who was leaving the Board after three years of dedicated service.
Dr. Richard Robbins has generously donated his time and expertise to the Foundation’s many endeavors. He was instrumental in helping the Foundation renovate one of the showers at the Long-Term Care facility, and has already pledged to help renovate a second shower there. He was able to help the Foundation secure a van in 2012 to help the Long-Term Care residents get out to their appointments and for day trips out of the facility. He also helped secure a second van that will be donated to the hospital in 2014.
In addition to this, he helped renovate the River Cottage, and he continues to lend his time and talents in helping the Foundation work towards establishing the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation Primary Care Training Program (HHSCPCTP previously known as the Rural Residency Program) to get doctors to much needed areas of the state.
Dr. Robbins has been an invaluable asset to the Foundation, and we wish him all the success in the world!
